Problem Resolved
We’re stationed on Fort Campbell and live in a home rented from Campbell Crossing. We had a pretty severe HVAC leak that lead to extensive damage to drywall and baseboards. After struggling for weeks to get any kind of maintenance started we found AFHA, and as soon as they were involved they provided us with the information we needed to push Campbell Crossing to get what our family deserved. We are now back in our home after the work was completed the right way, they even found a bigger hidden problem they resolved inside the walls and I don’t think it would have gone this smoothly without their help. Thank you AFHA!!
Finally in a Safe Home
We’ve only been here a few months, and from week one we have had issues. Rachel has assisted us every step of the way and it’s literally due to her and her advocacy that we are finally getting a new safer home.
In Good Hands
From the moment I was in contact with the advocates in AFHA, I knew I was in good hands. They have gone above their duties in advocacy and have not only helped me solve my issue with housing, but supported me emotionally as it took a huge toll on my whole family. They still check in from time to time, and they really are heroes for any family that lives in military housing and needs assistance.
AFHA Stepped In
The most concerning issue was the lack of window guards on any of the upstairs windows. We went back and forth with several people at different levels in housing and were getting nowhere. This PCS hit us hard and we were already too tired and defeated to keep fighting but thankfully Kate stepped in and used her knowledge and the right verbiage to get things immediately resolved. We are so grateful to have the Armed Forces Housing Advocates as a resource.

AFHA was Pivotal
I know so many people are fighting with them and at times it feels like it isn't worth it, like you want to give up. But if you feel like something isn't right keep pushing. After going back and forth (with the help of Rachel and Brittney), letting them know I was aware they were violating not only my daughter's rights, but also federal laws, Corvias finally agreed to remove a carpet that was making my daughter sick, at their cost.
Attentive & Informative
AFHA (specifically Rachel) was so attentive and informative. I had no idea how to move forward with finding a safe house to live in but she gave me the tools and the insight to get my family in a better living situation

Everything Worked Out
Sarah had a plethora of information to help fight my case with Fort Carson and Balfour Beatty in the end we were able to get everything worked out so that we could live in a safe environment again

Stood by Our Side
I am at Sheppard AFB. I would like to give a big shout out to Sarah Kline and Heather Cress. I have lost faith in our military community and personnel here. Many months ago I couldn’t get the help we needed but these two amazing ladies stepped in and have been there for my family and I when no one wanted to help us. They stood by our side through it all. They were and still are there when I didn’t have anyone to talk to or turn to because if you never experienced anything like this before you will never understand how stressful this could caused. There’s no words I can describe how thankful I am for you and for this organization. I will always recommend your organization because the whole world needs to know about you!
Fixed Our Mold Issue
[The housing company] now are super helpful with everything that I need it help with. I had a problem with my bathroom having mold in it. 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 did not want to come out and do their job. When I contacted [AFHA to] help me through each step it seems like [the housing company finally] were trying to hurry up and come fix it.
AFHA Cares
Rachel helped empower us to fight corvias. She has and continues to back us 100% as we continue to fight corvias. She has taught me how to fight and advocate for myself and my kids. She's also been there as I explode to her about why I hate Corvias. She's been there as an advocate and also a friend. She truly cares. Kate has helped us fight for window gaurds with our housing installation. Once we finish fighting, we will be the first to have them at our installation but can then empower other parents to fight for their kids safety with windows. She also has been there as we fight environmental issues as well as navigating how to become and advocate in order to empower others.
No More Mold
Fort Bragg. Pope housing. Had issues with mold and my advocate guided me on how to get housing to respond immediately! They got everything fixed quickly! If it wasn't for you guys I may still have mold in my house. Thank you so much!!
Efficient & Friendly

Immediately Resolved
We had just arrived to Fort Leonard Wood from OCONUS and were offered a newer build home that was filthy and had several maintenance issues. Like many families, we have been through a lot of substandard repairs or had issues completely ignored while living in privatized housing (on more than one installation under different companies). We are so grateful to have the Armed Forces Housing Advocates as a resource to hold these housing companies accountable and make them take action. I strongly encourage anyone struggling to reach out for support to be heard and get your issues resolved.
We Found Our Village
I'm so grateful to the AFHA! When I was stuck, feeling like I didn't know who to or where to turn in regard to issues with housing, I reached out and was contacted almost immediately. I was educated on many rights that I had as a resident of military housing and my advocate Heather went above and beyond and made me feel like my concerns mattered. The AHRA gives us a sense of hope and is that "village" military families need.
I Felt Seen
When I needed help with the water contamination at Pearl Harbor it felt like AFHA was the only person listening. I felt heard, believed, [and] seen. I couldn’t have made it out [to] the other side of that crisis without my advocate(s). Rachel & Kate are the most beautiful people, and kept me going when it got really tough! In the end, I was able to move my family safely, with military assistance, and they helped talk me through the steps for filing the necessary claims paperwork. AFHA is everything.
She Took the Stress Away
Our housing advocate went above and beyond to meet every single one of our needs and even wants. She was the sweetest person ever and was so beyond helpful. She took all the stress away from our particular situation and we couldn’t have done any of it without her. We will be forever grateful for the housing advocates.
